Installation and Operation Guidance of Screw Pump 

Inspection Before Installation

1.Check whether it is loose. If it is loose, tighten it in time.

2.Check the motor, reducer, bearing seat and assembly bolts, whether are loose or displaced. If any, correct in time and tighten the bolts. 

3. Check the coaxiality of the coupling, and measure it in both horizontal and vertical directions within the range of 0.1-0.3mm.

4.Check whether the bolts or nuts of the packing gland are loose. If they are loose, tighten them properly.

5.Check whether the seal at the inlet and outlet is damaged. If it is damaged, check whether there is any foreign matter entering the pump. If there is any, it must be eliminated.

6. Check whether the reducer or transmission is filled with oil, if not, immediately fill with oil.

7. Use the auxiliary tools to rotate the transmission, listen to whether there is abnormal noise in the pump and whether the rotation is normal. If there is 'stuck' and abnormal response, please immediately dismantle the machine immediately for inspection and troubleshooting.

Installation of Pumps

1. The distance between the pump outlet and the obstacle shall not be less than the length of 1.5 stators and shall be connected for maintenance.

2. Close to the inlet and outlet section of the pump, the number of pipelines shall be laid to avoid increasing resistance at right angles. If it is necessary to turn at right angles, the turning radius shall be increased.

3. After the pump is leveled and aligned on the foundation, the secondary grouting is carried out. After the strength of secondary grouting reaches 75%, tighten the foundation bolts.

Installation of pipes

1. The diameter of the inlet and outlet pipes shall be basically the same as that of the pump outlet.

2. Before the installation of pipes, all sundries in the pipes, especially welding slag, must be removed strictly.

3. In the design and installation of the pipeline, siphonage shall be avoided to keep certain liquid medium in the pump.

4. The pipeline must have its own bracket, and the pump body cannot bear the pipeline gravity.

5. All flanges of the inlet and outlet pipes must be sealed with sealing gasket to ensure that the inlet outlet pipes shall not leak.

6. If the pressure of the outlet pipeline system is higher than the maximum pressure of the pump instantaneously or the pump is shut down due to sudden power failure, and the system pressure will cause the pump to reverse, a check valve must be installed at the outlet of the pump.

7. The nozzle of the suction pipe shall not contact with the bottom of the tank, and the effective height shall be kept within 120-200mm. If the sundries in the medium injection are likely to cause pump blockage, a net cover shall be added to the suction pipe.

Use and Maintenance

1. When the pump is used for the first time, fresh water or liquid to be pumped must be injected into the pump, and use auxiliary tools to 'drive' to flexibly then power it up, so that to avoid dry running damaged the stator. 

2. Before starting the pump, all the valves in the inlet and outlet pipes must be opened. After stopping the pump, all the valves in the inlet and outlet pipes can be closed.

3. The direction of the pump must match the marking on the pump. If it is necessary to reverse, the pump inlet and outlet must be reversed.

4. Only adjust the opening degree of the return valve or the screw speed on the return pipe to adjust the flow, can’t depend on the outlet valve.

5. If suction is found during running, and the outlet pressure and flow rate decreased, indicating that the stator is worn. Then please properly adjust the screws outside the stator, tighten the stator cavity, and the pump can run normally. During the adjustment, it is advisable to feel the tightness of the stator-screw tooth engagement with the hand, it is appropriate when similar to a new pump.

6.Frequently check the tightness of the bolts everywhere, check whether the bearing temperature rise, if there is oil shortage, and the seal condition good or not, also the other problems, deal with them in time.

7. After conveying high viscosity, solid particles or corrosive medium, the pump cavity must be cleaned immediately to prevent deposition or corrosion.

8.When the pump is used in high and cold areas in winter, it must be cleaned immediately. Open the screw plug below the tee and drain the accumulated fluid to prevent freezing. If the usage interval time   is long, please must indirectly heat and melt the residual medium in the pump. However, steam is not allowed into the pump cavity. After using the auxiliary tool for a few turns, it can be powered on.

9. After 330 hours of new pump running, add new oil on the bearing. After every 1500 hours of running add new oil. The reducer runs after 7-14 days add new oil, after that every 3-6 months of running add new oil.

10. If an abnormal situation occurs during running, stop immediately, find out the cause, and eliminate the fault.
